Recovering environment needs your help
Already, less than a month after the fires, there are signs of new growth. Holidaymakers are being asked to play their part in the recovery by simply staying on the paths and not walking through the burnt areas.
Locals, with the help of others, are working hard to replace the pathway infrastructure before the onset of the holiday crowds.
It is vitally important to stay off the burnt areas because:- The dunes have a crust needed for natural recovery that can be destroyed if broken by people walking on it;
- There is a network of fibrous roots holding the dunes which should not be disturbed, and
- Staying off the burnt zones will minimise weed infestation.
With your help, by the time you visit again our dunes will be recovered.
Thankyou for being here, please enjoy your stay
