Quenda
Isoodon obesulus

A species of bandicoot that is on the threatened list. Despite its listing it often strays into areas of human habitation, such as Honeymoon Pool at Collie. They show little fear and can be seen foraging around picnic tables.
It moves with a bounding gait and is found in the wetter areas of the south-west where it is known as the southern brown bandicoot.
Urban expansion and rural clearing has had a big effect on quenda numbers and cats and foxes are also responsible for its dwindling numbers.
